The General English program consists of six levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced. It is designed to meet the requirements of individual students or groups. The syllabus is fully integrated and taught with an emphasis on inter-activity, student participation and multimedia usage. It is for those who want to improve their overall General English skills and focuses on speaking. At this level, students have very little or no knowledge of the English language. Students at this level have had very little exposure to English and may only be able to produce memorized phrases to answer common questions. Students have not had regular opportunity to hear or speak English, and English vocabulary is almost limited to words that have been borrowed from English into their own language. This course will provide the motivation and support to begin using English well enough to communicate at the most basic level. This course will provide clear and memorable presentation of the basic grammar vocabulary and pronunciation needed to start using the English language. When this level is completed students will be able to interact in simple ways to ask and answer simple questions use basic greetings and understand and express uncomplicated information. At this level students have only a limited ability in the English language and their pronunciation is still heavily influenced by their first language. This course will teach basic social functions such as greetings, introductions, and focus on grammar tense usage, building vocabulary and communication skills. On completing this level, students will have a sound grasp of the basics of the English language and will have basic communication skills for everyday social situations. Students have control over the basic grammar, but errors still occur and their pronunciation is still faulty. This level will focus on further grammar usage, vocabulary building, everyday English skills and pronunciation, using skills development in reading, listening, speaking and writing. When this course is completed, the student's confidence level in respect to communicating in everyday situations should be better. They will have extended their vocabulary and be more familiar with English grammar, enabling them to communicate in general topics in English. Students have some ability to use complex grammar structures, though errors may still occur. They will be taught at this level a more extensive range of vocabulary, grammar structures and pronunciation usage. This will be developed through skills work in the four areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing. On completion of this level, students will be capable of using and understanding complex structures in a variety of situations. Students at this level can communicate effectively. Have control over complex grammatical structures, and errors only happen occasionally. At this level , more sophisticated themes are used covering a broad range of communication techniques. On the completion of this level, students will be approaching fluency in all areas of English and will be able to express themselves easily in a wide variety of situations using a large range of structures and vocabulary. Students can communicate fluency. Using complex structures accurately with only minor errors. Academic level skills are developed in complex usage of communication through speaking , reading, listening and writing. When this level is completed, students will have skills that are approaching those of native speakers, and will be able to deal comfortably with any situation.
